Speaker: Andrew Maier, Senior Managing Health Scientist, Cardno ChemRisk
Maier completed his master's in industrial hygiene at the University of Michigan and his doctorate in toxicology at the University of Cincinnati. He is board certified in both industrial hygiene (CIH) and toxicology (DABT). He has over 25 years of experience in occupational health, risk assessment and toxicology. Prior to joining Cardno he served as an Associate Professor in industrial hygiene at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. Maier also served for many years as a toxicology fellow at NIOSH and was directly involved in the development of the exposure banding, IDLH, and skin notation programs. He has extensive experience developing and instructing continuing education programs on occupational toxicology through open enrollment courses as well as workshops and courses in association with the AIHA and other organizations. He has provided training to hundreds of EH&S professionals through these activities. Maier remains active in the latest developments in the field through an active research and teaching program in occupational risk assessment. He brings a practical aspect to training as he has developed industrial toxicology assessments for hundreds of chemicals and has led several expert group activities in new risk methods development.
