Killeen works in the hazardous waste compliance and inspection support unit for the Division of Environmental Response and Revitalization Hazardous Waste Program. He has 20 years with the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as a hazardous waste inspector. He has worked the past five years in the hazardous waste compliance and inspection support unit where he answers regulatory questions from the public, the regulated community, and hazardous waste inspectors. In between, Killeen spent nine years with the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT), conducting environmental audits of ODOT facilities, reviewing environmental site assessment projects for both facilities and roadway construction, writing spill prevention, control, and countermeasure plans, managing voluntary action program and Recovery Conservation and Recovery Act closures. While with ODOT he petitioned Ohio EPA to add antifreeze and aerosol cans to the list of universal waste. Both of which were added in December 2017. Killeen spent two years with the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Resources, conducting both solid and hazardous waste inspections. He has a Bachelor of Science in biology from John Carroll University with four years of experience in purchasing and right-to know compliance for a medical lab.
