Joe Margetiak is an Assistant Area Director with the U.S. Department of Labor, Occupational Safety and Health Administration in the Toledo, Ohio area office.
Joe has an undergraduate degree in biology with a minor in chemistry.
Joe has a Master’s Degree in Occupational and Environmental Health and Safety with a focus on industrial hygiene.
Prior to joining OSHA, Joe worked for a Fortune 500 Tier I automotive parts company as a safety manager.
Joe joined OSHA in 2005 and has held positions with OSHA as Retaliation Investigator, Compliance Safety and Health officer, and currently is an Assistant Area Director. Joe has conducted inspections in both general industry and construction with special emphasis in combustible dust and process safety management. In addition to inspections, Joe also conducted root cause accident investigations into fatalities, injury accidents, fires, and explosions.
