Speaker: Jessica Philemond, Partner, Scott, Scriven LLP
Philemond has a practice devoted to representing school districts and their employees throughout Ohio. She has significant experience defending school districts in cases involving discrimination, equal protection, bullying, Title IX, civil rights claims, retaliation, and others. Philemond has won jury trials on behalf of her clients in state and federal court and has won many cases prior to trial. Philemond is a member of the Ohio Council of School Board Attorneys. She enjoys presenting legal updates on relevant topics from the school community to statewide organizations such as the Ohio School Boards Association, Ohio Educational Service Center Association, and others. Philemond especially loves presenting in-services directly to her clients and their staff. Philemond received a bachelor’s degree in finance from Miami University and a Juris Doctor from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law.
