Speaker: Richard Artino, Vice President Safety Services, Spooner Inc.
Richard has 31 years of leadership experience in occupational safety. As a factory safety manager for the Stouffer Frozen Foods factory in Solon, Ohio, Richard was responsible for developing OSHA compliance programs applicable to general industry manufacturing processes. Richard was responsible for introducing and implementing compliance with OSHA’s Process Safety Management program across all Nestle USA factories that utilize Ammonia Refrigeration Systems. After 3 years as a factory Safety Manger, Richard was promoted to a Divisional Safety Manger for Nestle USA. Over the next 24 years he managed the Safety function for 21 factories across the US and Canada including the Frozen, Chocolate, Pizza and Beverage divisions of Nestle USA. He was also instrumental in helping develop the Divisional Safety function in Nestle Italy in 2008. In 2011, Richard retired from Nestle and became Vice President of Safety for Spooner Risk Control Services. He has provided extensive independent safety consulting services to a variety of clients in manufacturing, construction, service, transportation and healthcare industries. He is also Vice Chair of the Program Development committee for the Ohio Safety Congress and has been an active speaker for the Safety Congress since 2012.
