Schmidt has dedicated 10 years of work to environmental health and safety. In that time, he has led workplaces in decreasing injuries by upwards of 50%, within one year. Schmidt has attended formal training related to lockout/tagout, train-the-trainer for powered equipment, Department of Transportation Hazmat compliance training, emergency action plan, and 5S. Throughout his career, he has combined these elements to build sustainable safety cultures that result in changing attitudes by the workforce and decreases in workplace accidents.
