Hess has worked in manufacturing for more than 30 years in various functions including operations, human resources, manufacturing engineering, maintenance, safety, environmental, and accounting. His current role is regional human resources manager for Calgon Carbon Corporation. His education includes an MBA, a bachelor's degree in business administration and an associate of arts. He also holds the Society for Human Resource Management – Senior Certified Professional and Senior Professional in Human Resources certifications as well as being a Notary Public.
