Gillette is an associate professor and the Director of Graduate Education with the Department of Kinesiology at Iowa State University. Gillette’s areas of expertise include biomechanics, ergonomics, and injury mechanisms. He utilizes video, force, and electromyography measurements to analyze human motion and estimate loading on the human body. Gillette holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering Science, a master’s degree in engineering mechanics, and a doctorate in biomedical engineering/engineering mechanics from Iowa State University. He has performed lab-based and on-site studies in industrial manufacturing and construction settings such as John Deere, Toyota, and Granite Construction to assess the effects of exoskeletons on muscle activation and fatigue.
