Speaker: Gary Sams, Chief Wellness Officer, Ebix Benefits Administration and Wellness
Sams is the chief wellness officer of Ebix Benefits Administration and Wellness, a full-service population health management company servicing corporations, hospitals, insurers, and public agencies across the nation. At Ebix, Sams has been responsible for the direction, implementation, and evaluation of a wide range of programs and services affecting more than 3 million individuals across the country. He received a bachelor’s in education from Washington and Jefferson College and a master’s in cardiac rehabilitation from the University of Pittsburgh. Active in the health-care field for the past 35 years, Sams is a popular speaker and writer on health topics and has been published or quoted in several local and national publications. He received the “Innovator Award” – from CDHC Solutions Magazine-Employer Benefit News for his consulting work on client programs. Sams was also an adjunct faculty member at the West Virginia University School of Medicine / Public Health where he taught a popular course on population health management for five years.
