Speaker: Steven Lavender, Associate Professor, The Ohio State University
Lavender is an associate professor in integrated systems engineering at The Ohio State University. His research focuses on the development and evaluation of ergonomics interventions. Recent projects include the development of ergonomic interventions for material handling tasks in distribution centers, patient handling tasks in the fire service, and for tasks performed by imaging technologists. Other recent projects have investigated the factors that affect the adoption of ergonomics interventions, biomechanically evaluated emergency evacuation devices used in high rise buildings, and developed hospital patient room designs that facilitate the work for all hospital staff members. Lavender has published more than 100 research papers in peer-reviewed journals.
