I am a 40-year, hourly, USW Union employee. I am team Leader of the Newark Plant Wellness Council and have been since the beginning (Around than 10 years). I am a member of the Licking County Wellness Coalition and member of the Healthy Ohio Business Council. I am also the USW chair of the wellness team and USW chair of our onsite fitness centers. I helped create the most successful wellness movement in OC manufacturing history. We have dramatically changed the culture by how we do wellness in our manufacturing plant. I have done multiple presentations on wellness team building, at corporate level, Ohio University and other OC plants, etc. We are known as trendsetters in OC because of our much-lauded success. Our award-winning team has made a dramatic impact on all forms of wellness; physical, nutrition, know your numbers, financial health, tobacco free and healthy minds. But more than that, our manufacturing facility of 650 employees, USW, IBEW, IAM, Plant leadership and salary employees work together so well together that we have been used as the role model how to build a successful wellness culture corporate wide. My goal is show others that we can step past that fear and self-doubt to become truly successful leaders. Making wellness attainable to our families, to our community and to our co-workers, also known as friends! We must make it personal!
