Alvarez is the director of operations with the Franklin County Coroner’s Office where she directs, supervises, and monitors divisions of investigations, morgue, front office, and case secretary unit. She assists the chief fiscal officer with management of fiscal activity and budget preparations for the coroner’s approval. She provides point of contact for mass fatality exercises and plan updates. She graduated from The Ohio State University with a bachelor’s in anthropological science with minors in forensic science and life sciences in 2008; second bachelor’s in criminology and criminal justice studies in 2010. After graduation she obtained a position with the Franklin County Coroner’s Office as a forensic technician. Alvarez received a promotion to the chief of investigations and morgue operations in 2016. She is currently working on a master’s at the University of Florida in forensic death investigations.
