Speaker: Steve Wurzelbacher, ARM, Director, National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health - Center for Workers' Compensation Studies Wurzelbacher is the director of the Center for Workers’ Compensation Studies at National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health. In this role, he coordinates workers’ compensation claim analyses, exposure assessment research, and safety/health intervention effectiveness studies with public and private sector partners. Wurzelbacher has worked for more than 20 years in the safety and health field, as both a researcher at NIOSH and as a risk control practitioner for a workers’ compensation insurer. Wurzelbacher earned a Ph.D. in occupational safety and ergonomics from the University of Cincinnati, a Bachelor of Science in chemical science from Xavier University, and is a certified professional ergonomist. He also holds the associate in risk management designation.
