Speaker: Norman Deitch, OHST, senior vice president, EHS Excellence Consulting
Deitch is the senior vice president of EHS Excellence Consulting LLC, a full-service safety and health consulting company and a Voluntary Protection Plan (VPP) Star Mobile Workplace company. Previously, Deitch was the VPP manager for Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Region 2 from 1989 to 2007. He completed more than 400 evaluations of safety and health management systems of large and small companies in both general industry and construction. He was on the team for the revision of the VPP policies and procedures manual and the revisions to the VPP Federal Register. He also was a member of the team that wrote the VPP special government employee training program focused on how to evaluate safety and health management systems. He holds the professional certification of occupational health and safety technician. In addition to his professional career as a safety and occupational health manager, Deitch was also an active volunteer New Jersey Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and a CPR, first aid and EMT instructor for 36 years. He developed and implemented the first region-wide AED program in OSHA. Deitch is a certified American Health Association, American Red Cross, and National Safety Council Emergency Medical Responder, first aid, CPR, and AED instructor.
