Speaker: Blake McGowan , Director of Ergonomics Research, VelocityEHS | Humantech
McGowan is the director of research and ergonomics engineer at VelocityEHS’ Humantech, leading the ergonomics research group to incorporate the latest technical and scientific data into Humantech’s software solutions. He also consults with academia to transfer the latest research knowledge into the Humantech approach, systems, assessment methods, and guidelines. Prior to this role, he was a managing consultant, overseeing large-scale ergonomics initiatives for clients across numerous industries. McGowan received a Bachelor of Science degree in kinesiology (biomechanics and neurophysiology) and a Master of Science degree in kinesiology (human neuromechanics) from the University of Waterloo. He has achieved recognition as a certified professional ergonomist. He is a member of the National Occupational Research Agenda, the American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists, the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA), and Human Factors and Ergonomics Society. He is a past officer of the AIHA Ergonomics Committee. McGowan has been with Humantech since 1999.
