VanDyne has more than 40 years’ experience in the electrical industry. After graduating from Ohio University with a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineer, she spent 14 years at American Electric Power (AEP) before moving into the consulting world. While at AEP, VanDyne held several engineering and management positions. During this time, she also received a MBA from Capital University and attained her professional engineer's license. She is currently licensed in 31 states. She founded IDC Engineering in 1999 and provides consulting in power engineering fields with an emphasis on arc flash surveys, analyses, and training for industrial clients nation-wide. She served on the 2018 IEEE 1584 "IEEE Guide for Performing Arc-Flash Hazard Calculations" Working Group.
