Speaker: Jared Cass, Occupational Medicine Service Line Director, Avita Health System
Jared Cass is the Occupational Medicine Service Line Director for Avita Health System in Bucyrus, Galion and Ontario, Ohio. he has worked 19 years in the field of Occupational Medicine addressing prevention as well as treating individuals who have suffered an occupational injury. He has two certifications in Ergonomics and is a Transitional Work Developer for the state of Ohio. He currently oversees three clinics and has developed on-site Occupational Medicine management teams that include Transitional Work, on-site PT and OT, physician care, nursing care as well as ergonomic teams and return to work strategies. He is also certified through the WorkWell system to conduct Essential Function Tests, Job Site Analyses and Functional Capacity Evaluations. he has attended multiple ergonomic courses in his training including courses through the Harvard School of Public Health. He was a chosen as a speaker at seven safety councils in 2015 as well as the National Ergonomics Conference. While focusing on traditional risk factors, he and his team focus on morale as a tool to effectively addressing barriers to return to work.
