Speaker: Dee Jepsen, Ph.D., Associate Professor, The Ohio State University
Jepsen is an associate professor at The Ohio State University (OSU) and leads the OSU Extension Agricultural Safety and Health Program. Jepsen has dedicated the past 27 years to occupational safety and health issues, focused in the agricultural and green industry arenas. Besides her professional service to provide outreach education and research-based information to extension programs throughout Ohio, she assists her husband with their 1,300-acre grain and cattle farm in Fairfield county. Jepsen is the chair of OSU's Rural and Farm Stress Task Force. A team of more than 35 OSU educators are developing mental health resources and programs for agricultural workers. Their task force is collaborating with agricultural commodity groups, Ohio Farm Bureau, Ohio Department of Agriculture, Ohio Department of Health, and Ohio Suicide Prevention Foundation on a unified campaign to support farm and rural families.
